Everything you need to know about our art, creative process, fine-art editions, and purchasing experience.

01 / THE CREATIVE VISION

About the Art & Creative Process

Is this AI art?

Generative AI is one of the contemporary digital tools used in creating NuArtis Wildlife artwork—but it is not the entirety of the creative process. Every composition begins with a human artistic vision. Decisions about the animal's character, pose, composition, lighting, color, atmosphere, and emotional impact guide its development. Classical principles of fine art inform the process, while digital tools make it possible to explore, develop, and refine the imagery. The result is human-directed digital fine art that combines traditional artistic principles with the creative possibilities of modern technology. We believe the most important question is not simply which tools were used, but whether the finished artwork has the beauty, presence, craftsmanship, and emotional depth to enrich the space in which it lives.

Who creates the artwork?

NuArtis Wildlife was founded by Steve DeVore, whose creative interests have been shaped by a lifelong fascination with wildlife, wilderness, art, literature, and history. His study of classical artistic principles—including composition, light, proportion, color, and visual storytelling—informs the creative direction of the NuArtis collection. Learn more on The Creator page.

Are these original oil paintings or photographs?

Neither. NuArtis Wildlife creates digitally developed fine-art compositions reproduced as premium-quality prints. The aim is the richness, atmosphere, and emotional presence of exceptional fine art, without suggesting that they are traditional hand-painted originals or documentary photographs.

How is a NuArtis Wildlife artwork created?

The process brings together artistic vision, classical design principles, human-directed digital development, and fine-art production. An idea becomes a composition refined for proportion, lighting, depth, color, and expression. The resulting finished master is produced as a professional fine-art print, then stretched or framed according to the selected presentation. Visit Our Process to explore the individual stages.

What makes NuArtis Wildlife different from ordinary wall décor?

Our focus is on artwork that is visually compelling, emotionally engaging, and thoughtfully presented. Rather than using wildlife merely as a decorative theme, we seek to convey the character, beauty, and untamed spirit of the natural world. Artistic judgment, composition, atmosphere, printing, and presentation all contribute to the finished experience.

02 / MATERIALS AND COLLECTING

Fine-Art Printing & Editions

What is a giclée print?

Giclée is a term used for high-quality fine-art inkjet printing. Sophisticated printing technology, selected inks, and fine-art substrates reproduce intricate detail, subtle tonal variations, and rich color. NuArtis uses giclée processes for premium archival-canvas presentations, including Force of the Wild.

What does archival quality mean?

Archival materials are selected for stability and long-term preservation. They may include pigment-based inks, archival canvas, and specially prepared fine-art papers. Such materials still require proper care: prolonged direct sunlight, moisture, excessive heat, and improper handling can damage any artwork.

What materials are available?

Options depend on the artwork and may include fine-art paper, canvas, stretched canvas, and various framing presentations. Open-edition works offer a selection of sizes and materials as shown on their product pages. The Force of the Wild limited edition has its specified framed archival-canvas presentation.

What is the difference between an open edition and a limited edition?

An open edition has no predetermined cap on the number of prints. A limited edition is restricted to a stated number under the publisher's edition terms and may include a signature, individual numbering, and documentation. Limited status does not guarantee future resale value. Choose artwork first for the lasting pleasure and meaning it provides.

What is special about the Force of the Wild limited edition?

Force of the Wild is our inaugural limited edition of 75 prints. Each is a 30 × 40-inch framed archival canvas, signed and numbered and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Its scale and presentation are designed to give the grizzly composition a striking presence in a home, office, or lodge.

Can I choose a different size or frame?

Available dimensions, media, and frames vary among open-edition works and are shown on each product page. Force of the Wild is presented in its specified 30 × 40-inch framed limited-edition format. Contact us for help selecting an appropriate size and presentation.

03 / YOUR PURCHASE

Ordering, Shipping & Returns

Is the artwork made to order?

Yes. NuArtis Wildlife pieces are individually produced to order according to the size, medium, and presentation selected. This allows us to prepare artwork specifically for the person who will receive it.

How long will it take to receive my artwork?

Production times vary according to the art, size, print medium, and framing. Once an order is produced, inspected, and shipped, available confirmation and tracking details are provided. Larger artwork may require additional packaging and handling time.

Is shipping included?

Standard contiguous United States shipping is included in the currently advertised price of the Force of the Wild limited edition. Shipping for other artworks depends on the particular product and destination and is shown or confirmed during ordering. Please contact us for special delivery needs.

Can I change or cancel an order?

What is your return policy?

As artworks are produced to a customer's specifications, returns or exchanges for a change of mind, décor preference, or incorrect size or medium selection are generally not accepted. Damaged, defective, or incorrect items are handled under our replacement and refund policy. Our Collector's Information page contains the full terms.

What happens if my artwork arrives damaged?

Contact us within seven days of delivery. Include photographs of the artwork, damage, packaging, and shipping label. Once an issue is verified, we will arrange a replacement at no cost, including applicable replacement shipping. If replacement is not possible, an appropriate refund will be provided.

04 / LIVING WITH ART

Choosing, Displaying & Caring for Art

Can I see how an artwork will look on my wall before purchasing?

Yes. We offer a complimentary wall visualization. Send a photograph of your room or wall, approximate measurements, and the artwork link. We can prepare a representation of the selected piece in your space, which is especially helpful for a cabin great room, fireplace wall, or office. Contact us to request your preview.

Can wildlife artwork be displayed above a fireplace?

Sometimes, provided the location meets the fireplace manufacturer's clearance and temperature requirements and offers a suitable environment for art. Heat, soot, and changing conditions can damage prints and framing. Have a qualified installer evaluate an active fireplace location.

How should I care for my NuArtis Wildlife artwork?

Keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, humidity, moisture, and significant environmental fluctuations. Avoid touching the printed surface or applying household cleaners, solvents, water, or polish. Handle the frame carefully. Our Collector's Information page offers material-specific care guidance.

05 / PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL PROJECTS

Custom Artwork & Professional Inquiries

Can you create a portrait of my dog, cat, horse, or another animal?

Yes. We create custom artwork from photographs of beloved companions and other animals. We can discuss personality, expression, background, size, medium, and framing, whether the work is a gift, a celebration, or a remembrance. Visit our Custom Artwork page to begin.

What kind of photograph should I provide?

A clear original image showing the eyes, face, colors, and distinguishing features is best. Natural lighting helps. Additional images can show markings and personality. Older or imperfect images can be submitted for review. You must own the photographs or have permission to use them.

How much does a custom portrait cost?

Pricing depends on the number of animals, composition complexity, size, medium, and frame. Submit a photo and your ideas; we'll discuss the possibilities and provide pricing and timing before you commit. Submitting a portrait inquiry is free.

Do you work with interior designers, lodges, offices, and hospitality properties?

Yes. NuArtis welcomes projects for cabins, mountain lodges, offices, hotels, and professional interiors. We can discuss artwork selection, scale, coordinated presentations, and project requirements. Contact us or visit Lodges & Designers.
