A story of power, presence and the enduring spirit of the natural world.
01
Why the Bear
The bear has long stood as a symbol of strength, independence and resilience. It moves through the world with quiet confidence, fully alive and completely present. For me, the bear represents the untamed spirit of nature—and something within all of us
02
Where the Story Begins
Before the bear commands the scene, there is the wilderness itself—towering peaks, deep forests and open sky. This is his world: vast, untamed and enduring. The landscape establishes the sense of scale and solitude that gives Force of the Wild its power and beauty that still exists in the natural world.
03
The Encounter
Then the bear appears. Rising from the landscape, powerful and completely alive, he becomes the unmistakable presence at the heart of the work. This is the instant I wanted to capture—the feeling of encountering something wild, independent and beyond our control.
04
The World Beneath His Feet
The story is also told in the quieter details. Wildflowers, stone, fallen wood and the forest floor remind us that strength exists within a larger, living world. These small elements bring warmth and intimacy to the scene and reward the viewer with something new to discover the longer the work is lived with.

From the Creator
I wanted Force of the Wild to reveal itself slowly. Beyond the power of the bear are the quieter details—the wildflowers, weathered stone, fallen wood and life of the forest floor. They are there to draw you deeper into his world, so that even after years of living with the work, there is still something new to notice, feel and discover.
